A nice pair of maps, both published in 1842.
1) France in Departments, published by Jeremiah Greenleaf in his edition of A New Universal Atlas. This elegantly engraved map is filled with detail, and the departments are listed in a table at left. (12.5 x 11"). Maps by Greenleaf are uncommon.
2) Switzerland was issued by Henry Schenck Tanner in his edition the New Universal Atlas. The map has a decorative title and three scales of miles. (11 x 8").

Both maps with original outline color. Map 1 is fine, map 2 has some damp staining in the wide lower margin, well away from the map.
