The Guadalquivir River flows through this sharply engraved panoramic view of Seville. The district of Traiana, in the foreground, shows the large Castillo de San Jorge on the left. This castle was the site of the Inquisition from 1481 onwards, and it is noted in the numbered key below as S. Inquisitia. A pair of armillary crests fill the top two corners, and the Latin title above is as follows: Hispalis vulgo Sevilliae Urbis toto Orbe Celeberrimae Primariae Effigies Hispaniae Que.
