This spectacular illustration of Venice by Johann Degler was included in Scherer's atlas. The view is filled with Latin notes relating to Venetian culture, and extends to Murano, describing its famous crystal and glass. The foreground is filled with a large galleon, a galley boat and two of Venice's signature gondolas. Deftly engraved by Joseph a Montelegre.
