This ornate allegorical view of the Ottoman culture by Johann Degler was included in Scherer's atlas. Latin notes relate to 'barbarians', including architecture, battles, sultans, and even a scene of punishment, or 'castigatio' in the right corner. An angel holds the title in a banner cartouche at top. Deftly engraved by Joseph a Montelegre.
