This fascinating frontispiece was designed by Johannes Deger and engraved by Matthias Wolffgang. The central feature is an armillary sphere suspended by the hand of God above a harbor full of ships. Each corner is embellished with a scene representing exploration, astronomy and cartography.

Condition: A

Narrow (1/16") original top margin with some soil and wormholes in margins.
