Ortelius based this fine map of the Persian Empire in part on Gastaldi's 1564 map of Asia Minor and on his own 1567 Asia map. The map is filled with village and city names. Decorative elements include large strapwork title cartouche and a distance scale surmounted by a strange bestiary creature. Latin text on verso with page number 108, placing this as an edition of 1592.

An attractive example with a good impression. The margins have a stain and some minor toning at the top, not affecting the map.
