The report provides a thorough analysis of the concerns of seasonal flooding and navigation problems along this important river and served as an invaluable guide to the future development of river engineering in the United States. The map has attractive printed coloring, and covers the Mississippi River from the Ohio River to the delta and includes all of Louisiana and Arkansas. 214 pages. 8vo.
