This is the first edition, volume II of the two volume set of J.W. Powell's report. The 997-page text titled "Indian Land Cessions in the United States," contains 67 color-coded maps, as well as tables, statistics and other information complied by Charles C. Royce. The maps cover all parts of the country, and are all double-page, except for a fold-out Michigan. Each cession is described and is assigned a number used to locate the land on the maps. This important report features an eleven page introduction by Cyrus Thomas regarding soil rights. 8vo. Complete. Rebound in black cloth with half leather spine and tips. Gilt title on spine says "Royce Tracts."

Maps and text generally very good. Map of Michigan appears to have been miss-cut and repaired at time of publishing. Covers have some edge wear with minor loss to the lower corner. Spine is very good. Binding sound, but some signatures are loosening.
