A very unusual map with an odd placement for Illinois, showing it too far west and quite some distance from Lake Michigan. The Northwest Territory occupies the area that would become Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and a portion of Minnesota. Missouri Territory extends westward and the Arkansaw Territory is oversized, with Little Rock or Arkopolis named. There are a number of towns and settlements named west of the Mississippi, including Williams Sett and Herkerton's Stt in Arkansas, as well as the Hurricane Settlement on the western border of Illinois. Southern Florida is shown in an inset at the lower right.
