A beautifully engraved and rendered view that shows several large ships in the port with other, smaller vessels navigating the harbor. The fancy title is decorated with a vignette of the French crown and shield flanked on both sides by banners and assorted local produce. Beautifully engraved by Nicolas-Marie Ozanne (1728-1811), a well-known 18th century French engraver. A rarely seen view of Martinique.

Map has some very light staining in image, and hinge tape remnants on verso. A beautiful impression with wide margins.
