This superb bird's-eye plan of The Hague was copied from Joan Blaeu's town book of the Netherlands that was published just after Spain's acknowledgement of the Dutch Republic. The beautiful plan shows the well organized city with orderly houses and gardens lining the wide streets and canals. The map is embellished with a large title cartouche flanked by putti holding coats of arms and a decorative key at bottom.

Issued folding, now pressed. There are three one to two inch repaired tears at the sides of the map and a couple of tiny holes along folds. Left side margin close trimmed (1/8") for binding. Overall a very attractive plan.
