A decorative map that shows Saintonge from La Rochelle to the mouth of the Garonne and from the Atlantic to Angoulesme, including the famous city of Cognac (Congnac). Saintonge was the birthplace of the famous French explorer Samuel de Champlain. The title cartouche is attended by a pair of cherubs, and two female figures flank the scale of miles. Dutch text on verso.

A nice impression with slightly oxidized original color. There is some scattered foxing in the map. The margins are lightly toned by mat burn, with some hinge remnants at top.
