This very early collection of four dissected linen backed automobile maps covering the whole of France, were produced by Louis Theuveny and the De Dion-Bouton automobile manufacturer at the beginning of the 20th century. Each map measures 24" x 28" and is loaded with roads, highways, canals, rivers and place names. Later editions of these maps feature a decorative cartouche and illustrations of automobiles. De Dion-Bouton was the largest carmaker in the world at the time, and their roadmaps served as a very popular accessory to the privileged few who owned automobiles. Complete with original slipcase with its pasted down paper title sheet.
