An appealing map of the area centered on Milan, with the River Po below and Lake Como above. The map is filled with tiny towns and cities, and Milan is depicted with a miniature plan of the city. St. Ambrose, the patron saint of the city with his customary hive of bees, and an unusual female allegorical figure with a winged staff topped by a hand set with an eye flank the title cartouche. Dutch text on verso.

Nice original color on a sheet with some light toning. There is a tiny spot of abrasion on the cloak of St. Ambrose. The margins have a few tears, with one extending into the border at lower right (closed with archival tape on verso).
