A lovely map of the Gulf of Venice and the surrounding area, extending to the Tyrols in the north and a part of Tuscany in the south. The map includes Verona, Padua, Trieste, Piacenza, Bologna and Parma among the many fortified cities shown, along with detailed roads and topography. The decorative cartouche incorporates the scale of miles, flanked with two figures and topped with a splendid helmet.

A dark impression with attractive original color. The right and left margins are trimmed close to the neatline for inclusion in a composite atlas, and the top margin has some loss, well away from the map. The lower part of the map has two small worm holes and two tears just past the border, the tears have been closed with paper repairs on the verso. There is some faint pencil in the Gulf, and a few scattered stains.
