Franz Ritter was a German mathematician and astronomer whose works are extremely rare. This beautiful engraving is an horological diagram remarkable for the elaborately engraved decorative border. At top is a large cartouche and at bottom is a compass rose, both surrounded by meticulously engraved designs.

Condition: B+

A dark impression and attractive color. The margins are narrow, as issued, and have been professionally extended by the leaf casting method. There are a couple lines of facsimile in top corners.
