Collection of canine engravings, consecutively numbered 1 - 31. The first 30 are hand colored copper engravings depicting wolves and wild dogs, many extinct, from around the world. Includes the Black Wolf, Dusky Wolf, Mexican Wolf, North American Prairie Wolf, numerous Dholes, Dingos, Aguaras, the domesticated Surinam Aguara - Dog, and more. The last plate shows the skull of three canines: Hyena, Fox and Newfoundland Dog. Lot also includes title page, dated 1839. A collection of 31 plates.

The plates are disbound. Each is in good condition, some with a little surrounding toning to paper. Good margins on sound paper. Hand coloring is original.
