This folding pocket railroad timetable is a great ephemera piece with a large map on one side and extensive timetable and marketing text on the other. The detailed map is mostly centered on Texas and shows the railway network from Chicago to Northern California and from the Gulf Coast to Southern California. The noted railroad lines are delineated in red with each station named, and the connecting lines are shown in black. Extensive index at lower left lists hundreds of stops. One panel on the verso is a stunning Victorian-style engraving touting "Texas to the World Come! Here is room for All." Self folding into pictorial covers in tones of gray and black titled "Iron Mountain Route to Galveston, San Antonio, El Paso and San Francisco." The map is copyrighted by Rand McNally & Co., Chicago. A great document related to Texas and the continuing westward rush during the 19th century.

A little soiling or toning on a few folds and a ticket agent's stamp is on the front cover, else very good.
