1) Carte de l'Isle de la Guadeloupe is from "l'Histoire Generale des Voyages," 1758, hand colored (11.8 x 8.1"). It is a very handsome, small map adorned with rhumb lines, fleur-de-lys, two decorative rococo-style cartouches and filled with good detail and place names throughout. Also includes the islands of Mari-Galante, Terre d'Enhaut and Terre d'Enbas. The map has some very light offsetting and a couple spots. Issued folding, now pressed.
2) Environs du Fort Louis de la Guadeloupe is from the "Petit Atlas Maritime," 1764, uncolored (6.6 x 8.5"). This is a nice chart of the fort and its surroundings, with soundings and shoals located in the harbor. Good detail includes agricultural lands, terrain, rivers and the offshore islands. The crisp engraving is on a full sheet of bright paper. A few marginal spots.
