A bird's-eye view of the fort (present-day Natal) at the mouth of the Rio Potengi showing the Dutch invasion and capture of the Portuguese fort in 1633. The harbor is filled with ships and armies are shown rushing to defend the fort. Published by Gregorio Leti, this image is copied from an earlier publication, circa 1640. It is interesting to note that the image has been reversed during the engraving process, so the map is a mirror image of reality.
