This is an extremely scarce map based on the cartography of Nicolas Sanson and copied very closely from Jaillot's large map of Portugal and Algarve, circa 1672. The map provides a detailed view of the region with topography, cities, towns, fortifications and major roads shown. The large title and scale cartouches are surrounded by allegorical figures, and were also copied from Jaillot's design. Overton's maps are all uncommon and there is no record of this map in any catalog or price record we have reviewed.
