An early example of Ortelius' map of ancient Romania and Bulgaria compiled from the works of Dionos, Stephanus, Horatius, Suidas, Flavius Vopiscus, Plinius and Strabo. The route of the Danube is noted to the Black Sea. The map is decorative with fully engraved seas and a trio of large cartouches. Latin text on verso, with the letter S, indicating it was published in a 1595 edition of the Theatrum.

An early impression on a good sheet of laid paper with wide original margins. The blank margins have some light foxing, well away from the map.
