Map of Delphi with a view of Mount Parnassus at top. The town of Delphi was believed to be the center of the Greek universe and was very important to their civilization. It was the home of the eternal flame and was the important seat of the Oracles of Pythia. This map was published in an imaginary travel journal by Jean Jacques Barthelemy, a historical fiction set in ancient Greece with a title that translates to The Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece.
