This unusual wood block map was issued by Mr. Tsuda, the local Agriculture Dept. officer. It covers the region around Tokyo Bay with Lake Kasumigaura at the lower left of the map. North is oriented to the bottom of the map and a color coded key at right identifies farms, villages, roads, and water. The title indicates that the map details two prefectures (Chiba and Ibaragi), three sections (Kazusa, Shimosa and Hitach), and nine counties (Boda, Nagara, Ichikara, Yamabe, Chiba, Inba, Katori, Kohchi, and Shinoda). This lot includes a copy of the map that has been helpfully translated into English.
