Two lovely copper engraved maps, one on each side of the sheet. Both fully engraved with mountains in the Ptolemaic style, stipple engraved seas and many place names. Africae IIII shows the continent to well below the equator and shows the Nile originating from two lakes in the Mountains of the Moon. Asiae I shows all of Turkey including part of the Black Sea, and extending to show parts of Crete, Cyprus and Syria. On a full sheet (8 x 11.5") with Italian text below each map.
