Complete atlas with 78 single-page and 44 double-page maps. All double-page maps are printed on two sheets. This is a world atlas, but the majority of the maps are of U.S. interest, including all states and territories and numerous city plans. The atlas is illustrated with dozens of black and white photographs interspersed throughout the text, including presidential portraits and a facsimile of the U.S. constitution. Title, introduction, table of contents, text and maps, 456pp., plus an exhaustive 94 page listing of towns and counties for each state. Hardbound in original burgundy cloth covers with silver title on front.

Condition: A
Maps and text pages are near fine with some light toning and only a couple of small spots. The front and back endpapers have been reinforced with clear plastic tape at binding. The covers are a bit shelf worn and moderately soiled. Front cover is starting. The spine is sun faded and has a 2" split in the fabric at the bottom with minor loss to the extremities. The binding tight and sound.
