This is a fine tourist-oriented book that is filled with information, views and maps. There are 14 folding maps: Map of Through Routes South, and West from Omaha; Vicinity and city plan of Chicago; Vicinity and city plan of Cincinnati; Vicinity and city plan of St. Louis; Map of the Pacific Railways; City plan of San Francisco; Map of Yellowstone Park; City plan of New Orleans; Map of Yosemite Valley; City plan of Charleston; and City plan of Savannah. There is plenty of information useful to the tourist and many wood engravings illustrate the text. The engravings include University Hall, Ann Arbor, and The State Capitol, Springfield. Some fantastic advertisements fill the first and last several pages: the Ocean Steamship Co. of Savannah portrays a large image of a steam/sail ship, a steam locomotive represents one of the many railroads, and Kodak presents the ease of its camera. Vignettes depict numerous beautiful hotels -- the Hoffman House Hotel in NYC, Grand Union Hotel, The Plaza Hotel, Willard's Hotel in D.C., the Fifth Avenue Hotel and more.

All maps are very good or fine except for the Cincinnati plan which has toning along fold with small area of loss. The covers are very good with just a little rubbing.
