Fine, rare map covering Uruguay, Paraguay, northern Argentina and part of Chili. Filled with topographical illustrations, it also locates cities, missions, forts and villages. Gerard Coeck engraved this beautiful map and embellished it with two Dutch ships in the Atlantic Ocean and three cartouches. Latin text on verso with Qqq signature. This map appeared only in the Atlas Major, and is thus quite rare.

Strong, dark impression with original coloring and full margins. Some text toning from verso showing on front of map. Professional repairs on bottom fold and a few short marginal tears.
