This scarce map is centered on the Crimea with the regions surrounding it, including parts of Bulgaria, Romania, Moldava, and Russia. The fortifications in the region are prominently located. The wonderful title cartouche features a group of children in military garb representing both the Christian and Muslim forces that have fought over this region throughout much of history. A large and very decorative compass rose adorns the map.
