This is an uncommon and attractive title page from the important description of the Low Countries by Luigi Guicciardini. The title is in an architectural framework with several allegorical figures, most likely from Germanic mythology, including an earth goddess, a marine god, and a goddess holding several engraving tools. A lion, symbol of Belgium, is curled beneath the publisher's imprint. Seventeen coats of arms are on the verso.
