This scarce decorative and colorful map has a large title cartouche featuring the bust of John Hancock and scene of the Boston Tea Party including the ship Beaver. There is good detail with each state hand colored by county. In the upper left corner are the seals of the six states on the map. The map is further embellished with a border composed of engraved scenes of native Americans, farmers, the natural bounty, whaling, shields. Eagle with flags and ships surmount the composition. A handsome and large map.

Very nice color and strong impression. A few spots in map, more in margins. Some short marginal edge tears, one into map closed on verso. Loss just to lower right corner of border.
