This lot consists of the two western sheets of the six-part map of the United States published by Justus Perthes. Crisply engraved, there is incredible detail throughout, typical of German produced maps in general and with Stieler's in particular . Together they cover the country from the Pacific coast to the Rocky Mountains, and from Mexico north to Canada. Filled with place names, watershed and mountains delineated in hachure. Yellowstone National Park is well shown as is the Yosemite Valley plus many other features. Fancy titling and keyboard-style borders.
