This map shows the entire state with Utah Territory border to the east. Early county development, wagon roads, railroads, cities and towns are detailed. The southern portion is composed of just three counties - Los Angeles, and the huge counties of San Bernardino and San Diego. A large Tulare Lake stands out. The Gold Regions contain the most detail. Maps from the Cabinet Atlas are uncommon; bounded by a unique floral border, they are always delicately colored in pastel shades.
