This highly detailed map describes Edward Fontaine's proposed system of improvements and jetties along the Mississippi River to improve drainage and prevent flooding in New Orleans. It is from Fontaine's scare report noted at left. The map is centered on St. Charles and shows the river from Baton Rouge to below Lake Hermitage. Remarkable detail with the names of hundreds of individual land owner's named along the river. Large inset shows the complex delta system. The full Hardee map is rare and we find no prior sales record for this Fontaine version.
