This is a very uncommon map from the work of the Protestant minister and oriental scholar Samuel Bochart (1599-1667). It locates the Garden of Eden at the confluence of the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers near Babylon. The cartouche features the serpent with an apple in its mouth. Place names are given in Latin, Greek and Hebrew.
