A stunning map of the Persian empire based on Ortelius' map of nearly the same title. The map is centered on Persia, and it also shows present-day Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Indus River. It is filled with scores of place names, details of the Persian Gulf, and charming pictorial detail of topography and cities. A pair of strapwork cartouches embellish the map. French text on verso.
