This exquisite engraving depicts a section of architecture and painting within the papal palace at the Vatican. The engraving is after paintings by Raphael, master painter and architect of the Italian High Renaissance. It is beautifully colored in the opaque style with watercolor gouache.

Superb original color with minor surface soil in the margins. There are tissue hinge remnants on verso.
