This pocket map is titled on its cover "King's Annotated Map United States." It was produced by the Matthews, Northrup Company of Buffalo, but published in this form by the Moses King Corporation, also of Buffalo. The map depicts hundreds of cities and villages, a vast network of railroads, and it details the watershed and mountain ranges. The annotations fill the map's verso and include an extensive list of cities with their populations in 1880 and 1890, plus a historical sketch of the U.S. and further information on the Cabinet, Supreme Court, and Domestic Exports. The folding covers are brown with an illustration of King's Handbook on the front and an illustrated advertisement for The Remington Standard Typewriter on one of its panels.
