This superb title page is from this prestigious English atlas. The title is presented in an elaborate architectural framework with alcoves featuring a native Britain at top flanked with the figures of four invaders - a Roman, Saxon, Dane, and Norman. The sheet was beautifully engraved by R. White for the Bassett and Chiswell edition.

A fine dark impression with lovely color. Remargined at left with a 1" tear repaired near the Dane.
