This map appears to show the Independent Republic of Texas, but admittedly its geography is somewhat confused and out-dated. Mexico controls all of the Southwest. Nouv. Mexique is correctly located, but is shown as part of Mexico through both engraved line and coloring. The map shows the Northwest extending well into Canada, the French cartographer siding with the U.S. in that boundary dispute. The map extends to include much of the United States and shows good detail of watershed, Indian tribes, major cities, etc.
