This is a very decorative map of England and Wales with a very ornate title cartouche with coast of arms. The map (10.2 x 9.2") is flanked by two columns of French text and surrounded by a wide rococo-style frame with students studying geography and cartographic instruments. The map and decorative border were printed from two separate plates and assembled with the text for this beautiful atlas. Map fully colored, cartouche and decorative border uncolored.

Condition: B+

A hint of fold toning and a short fold centerfold split in lower margin that enters print border. Fine original hand coloring, crisp impression.
