A handsome folding pocket map of England and Wales, printed on fine banknote paper. The Scilly Isles are shown in a tiny inset in the lower left corner. Delicate hand coloring defines the counties, which are listed in a table at the upper right. The map is filled with many place names, as well as railroads and regular roads. The entire map is surrounded with Colton's trademark strapwork border. The map folds into cloth boards embossed with the title stamped in gilt. Inside front cover is the original paper label advertising other Colton maps for sale. Affixed to this label is a tiny label from the original book seller: Lockwood Books, 812 Broadway, N.Y.

The map is detached from the boards, and it has a few minor intersection fold splits, otherwise it is fine. Boards are near fine with just a little shelf wear.
