Nice pair of maps that cover the ancient region of the Saronic Gulf. The first map covers the area north and east of the gulf with Attica, Megaris, and a part of the island of Euboea. The cities of Athens, Megaris, and Thebes are prominently located. The second map covers the region to the southwest of the gulf and the Isthmus of Corinth. The cities of Sparta, Argos, Corinth and Trezene are shown, along with a well-developed road system. These were published in an imaginary travel journal by Jean Jacques Barthelemy, a historical fiction set in ancient Greece with a title that translates to The Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece.
