This scarce map of Northeast China covers the region including Peking and Shanghai. The map is filled with detail of rivers, lakes, provinces, cities and villages. The massive Great Wall forms the northern border and the important salt flats are graphically illustrated along the coast. The map is richly embellished with Chinese people surrounding the title cartouche, putti on the distance scale and a strapwork cartouche enclosing the map key. Three ships sail in the sea between China and Corea (Korea), which is noted as being an island. This is the second edition, published by Valck and Schenk.
