This scarce land promotional booklet and folding map sing the praises of the region. The folding map is at the back of the 96-page booklet, "The Tensas Delta of Louisiana Its Climate…Its Soil…Its Resources and Its Opportunities." Published by James D. Lacey & Company of New Orleans, the booklet is filled with numerous photographs, promotional text and full page advertisements for land. Beginning with "A Section as Rich as the Valley of the Nile" it sets the tone for the potential sod buster. The final advertisement is for the Iron Mountain Railway. A fascinating look at late 19th Century marketing features a fine map of the State of Louisiana with the Delta region highlighted in red overprinting. Rare.

The folding map is fine. The booklet cover has pulled away from the spine but is still attached. Text is fine with the first few pages curled at bottom corner.
