This first edition map was beautifully drawn by F. Lucas and engraved by Boyd. It shows the state with only 59 counties and a population less than 6% of the present. Cleveland is a tiny burg, indistinguishable from other towns along the shoreline. Toledo, Akron, Youngstown and other cities are missing. At least 20 forts are located, many near the several Indian Reserves. A most handsome example of this map on a full folio sheet with surrounding text giving historical, physical and political information. A table lists all Governors current to Allen Trimble, 1822.
