An early city plan of the fortified city in Uruguay, with two profile views above showing Isle Lobos and Montevideo from seaward. The key below the title identifies nine landmarks in the city plan and views. The plan was engraved for the description of South America by the Spanish naval officer and mathematician Antonio de Ulloa. Together with Jorge Juan y Santacilla, he accompanied Charles-Marie de la Condamine's expedition to South America, organized by the French Academie des Sciences.
