This is one of a series of five detailed maps illustrating the flow of the River Po in northern Italy. This map depicts the last stretch of river and its delta into the Gulf of Venice. The fortified cities of Rovigo and Ferrare are highlighted and hundreds of small villages are located. The map was originally drawn by Le Pere Placide de Sainte Helene, an Augustine monk and geographer to Louis XIV; this is the uncommon issue by Ottens.
