This delightful miniature map covers the island of Sicily and is decorated with a strapwork title cartouche and a tiny sea monster. The maps of this rival to Ortelius' pocket atlas were engraved by two of the finest Flemish engravers: brothers-in-law Jodocus Hondius and Pieter van den Keere. This map doesn't have an engraver's signature. Dutch text on verso.
