This early miniature map covers the southern tip of India and a small part of Sri Lanka. The map is oriented with east at top, so the focus of the map is the important coastline and harbors at Goa and Cochin. The maps of this rival to Ortelius' pocket atlas were engraved by two of the finest Flemish engravers: brothers-in-law Jodocus Hondius and Pieter van den Keere. This map doesn't have an engraver's signature. Dutch text on verso.
